Erik Mays – Director of Youth Ministries

Erik came to our church as the Minister of Youth in May of 2009. He and his wife, Lindsey, are originally from the Atlanta area. Erik received an A.A. in Liberal Arts with a focus in Sociology from Reinhardt College in Waleska, Georgia. He then went on to receive a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy from LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia. In heeding his call to ministry, Erik went on to attend the Candler School of Theology of Emory University where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in May of 2009. Erik is currently a provisional deacon in the North Georgia Conference. Erik has served churches in LaGrange Georgia, Smyrna Georgia, and most recently as Youth Minister for Covington First UMC in Covington, Georgia. He has been on staff at Camp Glisson, a United Methodist camp in Dahlonega, Georgia. Erik married his wife Lindsey, a University of Georgia graduate, in June of 2007. She is currently in graduate school at the Medical University of South Carolina. In their spare time, they love to spend time on the beach (because they can now!), play with their cockapoo, Ellie, swim, play disc golf, go cycling, and travel. Erik is passionate about youth ministry and is excited to see what God has in store for the amazing youth of Belin Memorial.
